Creating Dialup Icon For WinXP
How to add an Icon for Dialup using Windows XP:
1. Start, Control Panel, Network Connections. Click Create a new connection (upper left).

2. Click Next.

3. Connect to the Internet.

4. Set up my connection manually

5. Connect using a dial-up modem

6. Enter an ISP name (any name you want for your icon). We’ve entered Halstad ISP for the example.

7. Enter Phone number of ISP. 891-2950 is the number that Crookston, EGF and GF residents should use)

8. Select Anyone’s Use.

9.Enter User name: Halstad accounts begin with “umcrk###”
Enter Password: Halstad’s passwords begin with “umc####”
Confirm Password: re-enter the Halstad Password.
UNCHECK the three check boxes.

10. Check Add a shortcut to the connection to my desktop.

11. Ensure telephone cable’s plugged in to modem slot (right hand side designated with a phone handset).

12. Double click on icon and click Dial to connect to the internet!
