E-Mail Account Information

Faculty/Staff
New employee accounts will be created once the employee has met with human resources and their information is recorded into Peoplesoft. The nightly upload will automatically flag the system to generate a new account. The Internet ID/username is typically the first four or five letters of the surname, followed by numbers up to eight characters in length. The e-mail address then becomes "InternetID@umn.edu."

Sponsored accounts need to be requested by anyone who requires UMC e-mail but is not an official University employee, i.e. visiting students or temporary access for outreach purposes. See Sponsored and Short-Term Wireless Network Access for more info.
