How to setup Virtual Private Networking for UMC’s network (using W2K)

1. Go to Start, Settings, Network & Dialup connections

2. Make new connection, Next. Select “Connect to a private network through the Internet”, Next.

3. Select your Internet connection that you use (Halstad, etc), next.

4. UMC’s Host name is: "umc-vpn.umcrookston.edu".

5. Click Next, Next, Finish.

6. You should now have an icon labeled “Virtual Private Networking”. This will allow you to connect to UMC’s server(s) AFTER you’ve already made an initial connection to your ISP (internet service provider).
